Comedian Raju Srivastava Breathed His Last At The Age Of 58 Years At All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (Aiims), Delhi. Srivastava Had Been Hospitalised Since August 10 After He Reported Chest Pain And Collapsed While Working Out. He Was Under Treatment For More Than A Month, News Agency Ani Reported.

Srivastava’s Health Deteriorated On September 1 When He Reported A Fever Of Over 100 Degrees And Was Put On Ventilator Support For The Second Time. The Comedian Was First Put On A Ventilator On August 10 And Had Gained Consciousness On August 25 After Spending Almost 15 Days In The Ventilator.

Srivastava Has Been Working In The Entertainment Industry Since The Late 1980s And Received Recognition After Participating In The First Season Of The Stand-up Comedy Show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” In 2005.

Raju Srivastava Was Admitted To The All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (Aiims) In Delhi After He Suffered A Heart Attack While Working Out In A Gym On August 10. He Underwent An Angioplasty The Same Day And Has Been On A Ventilator Since Then. Last Week, Raju’s Family Released A Statement On His Official Instagram Account And Said His Condition Was ‘stable’. His Family Also Requested People To ‘ignore Any Rumour/fake News Being Circulated’.

Soon After The News Of The Comedian’s Death Came Out, The Internet Was Flooded With Condolences. Sometimes workouts can trigger electrical disturbance in the heart leading to cardiac arrest. Strenuous exercise can also cause the fatty plaques to rupture leading to heart attack.

Immensely popular as Gajodhar, Srivastava, had an illustrious career in the industry. Apart from the entertainment industry he also had a political career. He had contested from Kanpur in the 2014 Lok Sabha Election as a Samajwadi party candidate. However, citing reasons he left the party and joined BJP later.
